I'm Katja Della Libera, a Ph.D. Candidate in the department of Ecology & Evolution at the University of Chicago, researching with the Blekhman Lab.
My interest is in the significance of ecological community dynamics in human health and disease. Specifically, I am creating metabolic models of the gut microbiome and host cells in IBD.
Selected ongoing and completed research work
A project to metabolically model the human gut microbiome and its interaction with human gene expression
Ongoing collaboration with the Jabri Lab to investigate the interactions of the microbiome and immune system in Primaryt Sclerosing Cholangitis.
A rotation project with the Allesina Lab investigating the behavior of randomly sampled metacommunities under a competition-colonization trade-off.
